Welcome!
The only job where when you get dirty, it's just sparkly!
Hello! I am Jennifer Bland, owner/artisan at Veranda Soap Company and I'm so glad you are here for a visit! I've had soapmaking on the brain since 2009, when I made my first humble batch for my first baby. Part chemistry, part artistry, part trial and error, making soap has been a huge part of my life. In 2013, I launched Orchard Hill Trading Co, where I offered soaps, lip butters, oatmeal salt soaks, as well as home goods. Many of these products (their base formulas in particular) have materialized in Veranda Soap Co. Folks ask why I rebranded and I can only say: this fits so much better. I've spent 14 years of my life in Georgia and have loved it since I was a toddler. What could be better than combining my two loves?
Outside of the studio, I am a mom to three absolutely fantastic kids and one sweet dog. I am an avid fan of the outdoors and enjoy exploring all of the wonder that Georgia has to offer from mountains, beaches, canyons, marshes, and beyond. I like a good funky nail polish, 90s music, poetry by Mary Oliver, s'mores by the campfire, and morning coffee with the sun just peeking up. I'm so glad you stopped by!
